Change climate course…but how?

We are at a crucial point in the history of humanity. As individuals we are trying to find our way in uncertain times. In this video key figures in the struggle for a Green Recovery speak principles that can help us shape what is to come, and adapt constructively to create a future that works for all of us.

A plan to fight for

As we begin to move out of COVID lockdown we face a situation where the key institutions that inform our Government (like the IEA, International Energy Authority, and the CCC, Climate Change Committee) are calling for investment into a low carbon future. At the same time the Bank of England, within the CCFF scheme, on behalf of the Government, is funding high carbon corporations with no environmental or employment safeguards attached. This is a sign of inconsistency and ineptness within Government. The consequences of this are colossal and could easily lead to the 'end of civilisation', as David Attenborough described it. The Green Recovery is a plan we are going to have to fight for if we value survival!

Climate Emergency?

The UK Parliament declared a Climate Emergency in May 2019. Soon after the Government put 'Zero Emissions By 2050' into law. In the more than a year since then, there has been a great deal of talk but no significant emergency action taken in line with the severity of what we face. Are we actually going to do something, or just pretend it never happened, and then have to face the consequences?
